The Book of James
Facilitators: Deacon Annie Mickens & Min. Naomi Pearson
Meeting Day & Time: Thursdays @6:30 PM
True faith produces fruit. A faith without action and without life change is ultimately a dead faith. The book of James speaks to the realities of a living faith in Jesus—the kind of roll-up-your-sleeves and get-your-hands-dirty discipleship that is borne out of an authentic relationship with the risen Lord. It’s to believers who know suffering, who've faced trials, and who ultimately desire a deep relationship with God.
Our class will journey with Francis Chan as he unpacks the dense truth to challenge followers of Christ to move beyond a private, intellectual knowledge of God to a vibrant faith that impacts every square inch of life.
All class sessions will meet through Zoom. All participants will receive by e-mail, leaders’ guides and handouts to aid in our study of the Book of James.
The Book of Ruth
Facilitators: Min. Robert Brown & Sis. Dortherine Eaddy
Meeting Day & Time: Sundays @9:00 AM
In these lessons from the Old Testament Book of Ruth, we will discover how God moves behind the scenes in our lives. On the surface, the story of two widows and a kind landowner unfolds. As we dig deeper in the four chapters in this short book, we see God's faithfulness, love, and divine protection during difficult times. Course participants will be able to relate their own personal challenges to that of Ruth and, like her, be able to see God's grace in the midst of difficult circumstances.
Re-Authoring Our Stories
Facilitator: Rev. Melanie Thompson
Meeting Day & Time: Tuesdays @6:30 PM
Have you ever been intrigued about what makes you, YOU? A journey through the course, "Re-Authoring Our Stories" will help you identify and understand what has influenced your life story. We will examine the lenses through which we see our story and what has influenced our beliefs, convictions, and the way we interact and serve. To do so will help us begin to intentionally re-author a new story. Scripture and the book “Recalling Our Own Stories” will revive us as we are guided towards spiritual and emotional renewal. So ZOOM in and be a part of this rejuvenating and refreshing journey!
